Genuine Redline Tyre
This product features a genuine redline sidewall style, sometimes known as a red stripe, due to the thin 3/8-inch strip rubber. This means that the red rubber is added directly to the tyre sidewall during initial construction of the carcass, resulting in a truly integrated, high-quality product after vulcanization. Redline tyres hit the American automobile market in 1964 with the introduction of the Pontiac GTO and remained a popular muscle car tyre until around 1970. Dual redline tyres (two red stripes) were an option on Ford Mustangs, and are now reproduced in original bias ply, bias look radial as well as radial construction. Choose the redline that best fits your application.
Bias Ply Construction
Bias ply tyre construction is a method that was used from the 1900's through the 1970's on passenger cars and light trucks. Bias ply tyres feature ply cords that run at a 45 degree angle to the bead, and overlap in a crisscross pattern, depending on how many ply layers are used. This creates a strong tyre, but bias ply tyres have a tendency to follow breaks or ruts in the pavement. Bias ply tyres are the most authentic choice for classic car restorations and traditional hot rod builds. Coker Tyre offers a huge variety of bias ply tyres for many applications.
